What Have I Been Busy With Lately?

I’ve been really busy lately, how can I describe it?

Last night when I got home, after taking a shower and lying in bed, I looked at my phone for 5 minutes and then passed out. My wife even helped me take off my glasses after I fell asleep. She said she was giggling next to me (watching funny videos) and I didn’t wake up, and I kept snoring loudly - she said even Bobby (our pet) was shocked!

Why am I so tired?

  1. Besides being busy with work, I’m more physically exhausted. Why? Recently, my workout duration has increased from the original 30-40 minutes to 1-1.5 hours, and the weights have also started to increase. So I’m still a bit tired physically, but what makes me happy is that I’ve changed from being able to do only two pull-ups to 11. I’m quite satisfied with this progress.

  2. I got married last month - well, we got our marriage certificate. We’re going back home for the wedding ceremony during National Day holiday. Although it seems like I haven’t worried about anything, my wife has taken care of food and clothing, and family back home has helped prepare everything. So I’m quite blessed. Thank you to my family and heaven, and I pray everything goes smoothly next month!

Marriage

Whether it’s novels, movies, or other forms of storytelling (comedy, poetry, music, even mythology and religious texts), regardless of geography - domestic or international - marriage is undoubtedly a very important theme for us humans!

Famous representative movies and novels I can think of:

“Roman Holiday” - free love

“The Godfather” - wedding opening

“Game of Thrones” - Red Wedding

“Red Sorghum” - traditional society’s wedding banquet

“Dream of the Red Chamber”

“Pride and Prejudice”

“Anna Karenina”

“Wedding March”

“Butterfly Lovers Violin Concerto”

Because marriage symbolizes that you have a belonging, not just materially, but more importantly, spiritual belonging.

In terms of life, from now on, whatever you do, you have a very good partner to cooperate and participate with.

No matter what environment or era you’re in, marriage is beautiful.

I think the time period of marriage is worth describing with abundant flowery language.

The above is what I’ve thought of for now. It would be better explained from multiple dimensions:

  1. Basic physiological reproductive needs - this is easy to understand, continuing the family line
  2. Stability of social relationships - not just the union of two people, but family participation, which becomes more important in higher social classes
  3. Emotional belonging - from loneliness to companionship
  4. Symbolic milestone in life’s journey - many novels and movies use weddings as “happy endings,” more symbolizing a new beginning
  5. Gap between ideals and reality - marriage is full of beautiful fantasies while accompanied by harsh realities

Above all, what I can say is that marriage is so important not only because of our “personal choice,” but also as a microcosm of “universal human experience”!

Borrowing AI’s summary:

Almost all important motifs about human nature - love, responsibility, sacrifice, freedom, loyalty, betrayal, hope, disillusionment - can be explored most intensively and deeply within the framework of "marriage." Therefore, whether creators or audiences, we will always be fascinated by this story that is not only about "him" and "her," but about all of "us."
